Terms of use

Last updated: September 8, 2026

Who provides this service

luud.link ("the service") is operated by an independent individual software developer based in Thailand. It is not a registered company. Throughout this document, "we" and "us" mean that operator, and "you" means anyone using the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Nothing here removes any protection that consumer law in your own country grants you and cannot be waived by agreement.

Agreeing to these terms

By shortening a link, generating a QR code, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. If you are using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

What you may not shorten

The service exists to make honest links shorter. You may not use it to create, share, or point a link at any of the following, and doing so is grounds for immediate removal without notice.

  • Malware or hostile code — viruses, ransomware, cryptominers, drive-by downloads, or anything designed to compromise a device.
  • Phishing and impersonation — pages that imitate a bank, a brand, a government body, or any person in order to harvest credentials, payment details, or identity documents.
  • Fraud and deception — scams, fake shops, investment and lottery cons, deceptive advertising, and pyramid or Ponzi schemes.
  • Child sexual abuse material — reported to the authorities as well as removed, without exception.
  • Content that is illegal where it is published or received — including material infringing copyright or trademark, and unlicensed gambling.
  • Harassment and incitement — threats, doxxing, and content inciting violence or hatred against a person or group.
  • Spam — links created for bulk unsolicited messaging, or generated in automated volume to evade filters.
  • Attempts to attack the service itself — probing for vulnerabilities, bypassing rate limits, scraping, or hijacking the reserved paths the site uses for its own pages.

Your links are your responsibility

We do not check where a link points before it is created, and creating one is not an endorsement of its destination. You are responsible for the content you link to, for having the right to link to it, and for complying with the law that applies to you.

You keep whatever rights you already hold in your destinations and your own content. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service — to store the destination URL, resolve it when someone clicks, and count that click.

Managing your links

A link created without an account is controlled by a secret management URL shown to you once, at the moment of creation. Anyone holding that URL can edit or delete the link, so treat it as a password and keep it somewhere safe.

We hold no recoverable copy of that key. If you lose it, the link keeps working and keeps counting clicks, but nobody — including us — can edit or delete it afterwards. Sign in before creating a link if you would rather it stayed recoverable.

Aliases are first come, first served. A short list of paths is reserved for the site's own pages and can never be claimed.

Availability, and what we do not promise

The service is provided free of charge, as it is, without any warranty. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, that every redirect will succeed, or that your statistics will be complete or accurate.

We aim to keep links working indefinitely, and we have no intention of expiring anything you did not set an expiry on. But this is a free service run by one person, and you should not build something you cannot afford to lose on top of a promise nobody is charging you for. If a link is critical to your business, keep a record of its destination so you can restore it elsewhere.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost business, or lost data — arising from your use of the service or from any link being unavailable, delayed, or removed.

Removal and suspension

We may remove any link, and suspend or delete any account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken — with notice where that is practical, and without it where a link is causing active harm.

Removal is immediate and complete: the link stops resolving everywhere it has ever been shared, including inside QR codes already printed. Reports from the public are read by a person and are the main way harmful links come to our attention. Anyone can send one through the report page.

If you believe your link was removed in error, email us and say so; we will look again.

Advertising

The service is funded by advertising shown on our own pages, currently through Google AdSense. Advertisements are not inserted into your redirects, and visitors clicking your short link are not shown an interstitial page.

Advertisers set their own content, and appearing on this site is not an endorsement of them by us. How advertising cookies are handled — including the consent banner shown in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland — is described in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the service does. The date below always shows when they were last revised, and the current version is the one that applies. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

If a change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to flag it on the site rather than letting it pass silently.

Contact

Questions about these terms, or notice of anything that breaches them, can be sent to luud.link@gmail.com. Other ways to get in touch are listed on the contact page.

In short: shorten honest links and they will keep working; point one at malware, phishing, or fraud and it will be removed the moment we hear about it.
